From September 17th to 19th, Panama City became the epicenter of innovation and technological advancement in the electoral field by hosting the second edition of the International Congress on Electoral Technology, CITEC Panama 2024, marking a milestone by including the topic of Audits for the first time. This event brought together prominent experts and electoral officials from across the region to discuss the challenges, advancements, and solutions in implementing electronic voting, data transmission, vote counting, and results dissemination.
A gathering of Experts
The conference attracted representatives from countries such as Brazil, Argentina, and the United States, who addressed critical topics such as cybersecurity, biometric identification solutions, artificial intelligence applied to electoral processes, and electronic voting, among others. This setting fostered fruitful debates on the future of electoral technology, where each speaker shared their vision of how innovation can transform and strengthen the democracies of our countries.
